Discovery Brings First-Ever Live HD Downlink from International Space Station to Viewers

On November 15, 2006, Discovery Communications and NHK partnered with NASA to bring a live, high-definition downlink from the International Space Station to living rooms on Discovery HD Theater.

Commander Michael Lopez-Alegria of the Expedition-14 crew of the ISS addressed audiences during the special, sharing a meal while discussing the importance of diet and nutrition on long duration spaceflight.
